CIGNA CONCLUDES ITS FIRST EVER MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA BROKERS EVENT

Cigna concluded its first ever Middle East and Africa Brokers Event on Accelerating Healthcare Innovation, on Tuesday 5th March, 2018.

Held at W Dubai, Al Habtoor City, the event drew the participation of more than 100 attendees, and looked at addressing the needs of the healthcare market through innovation in the healthcare industry, and how implementing technology can enhance the offerings to patients in the Middle East and Africa region.

The opening keynote was delivered by Howard Gough, Chief Executive EMEA, Global IPMI and Health Solutions of Cigna International Markets. He emphasized the Middle East and Africa as important regions, from which Cigna leverages wealth of experience to implement around the world.

During the first half of the event, Dr. Pritpal Tamber, CEO and Co-Founder of Bridging Health, Sandeep Sinha, VP Healthcare of Frost and Sullivan and Dr. Sven-Olaf Vathje, Practice Head – Health and Life Sciences (MEA) of Oliver Wyman, elaborated on viewing healthcare through the patient’s perspective.

Discussing on the importance of healthcare innovation, Paul Epping, Principal Consultant at Philips Healthcare, Michael Schelper, COO MEA of Cerner, and Peter Haugaard, Head of People at KPMG took stage and spoke on leveraging digital tools to improve healthcare delivery and patient experiences. The topics explored were the impact of data analytics, AI and blockchain in healthcare.

Arthur Cozad, CEO of Cigna Insurance Middle East and Bart Jordens, Global Head of Innovation of Cigna Health Solutions, unveiled Cigna’s Wellbeing app. The app is developed for Cigna’s customers- both individuals and groups, and is aimed at providing an easier method of managing wellness on the go, wherever you are.

Arjan Toor, CEO of Cigna International Organisations, Global IPMI and Africa, and Amy MacKay, EMEA Partner Relations Director at Cigna, unveiled the Middle East and Africa value proposition which incorporates Cigna’s vast global resources and existing local expertise. Unified for your needs and Localized for your ease, is created as a single solution for companies based in the region.

To conclude the event, Jason Sadler, President of Cigna International Markets, spoke on how digital transformation is already impacting our lives.
