Leah Cotterill is the Chief Executive Officer for Cigna Healthcare Middle East and Africa, excluding KSA. Her responsibilities include improving access to high-quality health and wellness services and driving high-level growth strategies in the Middle East, and Africa.
Over the last 25 years, Leah has become a proven leader in the health and wellness industry.
Before taking on her present role, Leah was the Chief Distribution Officer for Cigna Healthcare MEA and wasresponsible for driving the Middle East and African market growth teams, working with them to develop market strategies and frame buyer group needs. In addition, Leah oversaw operations for the region’s Individual Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) business unit.
Prior to that role, Leah served as Chief Operating Officer at Cigna Healthcare MEA, developing a customer-focused operating model that streamlines implementation of the organizations strategic priorities. In 2013, she took an assignment to the US, where she led the Client Management Team for Global Health Benefits in North America, before returning to the Middle East to lead the global client migration activity to Cigna Healthcare’s new operating model following the acquisition of Zurich Insurance Middle East.
With a career that spans the Middle East, the United States, and the United Kingdom, Leah has developed an international mindset that helps businesses thrive across diverse markets. Her energetic, resilient, and collaborative nature keep Leah and her peers focused on driving growth and delivering exceptional results.
Always looking to build upon her experience, Leah graduated with an MBA with distinction from Hult International Business school in 2023. Outside of her professional achievements, Leah is passionate about gender equity, diversity, and inclusion. She is also deeply committed to Cigna Healthcare’s ‘Women in Networking’ (WIN) initiative.
