Qatar has invested significantly in developing its medical infrastructure to offer one of the best health care facilities in the Middle East. Qatar provides various quality health care solutions ranging from cutting-edge technologies to hospitals specialising in women’s health care.
When choosing group health insurance for your small business in Qatar, consider your employees’ healthcare needs, your budget, and the level of coverage required. Look for plans that offer comprehensive benefits, access to a broad network of hospitals and clinics, and flexible coverage options. Compare premiums, co-payments, and benefit limits to ensure the plan delivers good value. Choosing the right health insurance can help support employee wellbeing while making your business a more attractive place to work.
Employers in Qatar must offer health insurance to foreign workers. Employers are required to arrange basic health insurance and cover premiums for foreign workers, their spouses and up to three children under the age of 18. Without this, residence permits cannot be issued or renewed for any employees.
The Qatar government fully covers the health insurance premiums for all citizens, under Article 13 of the Health Insurance Law.
Research shows that employees with good health habits are happier and more productive. Wellness programmes, when offered through the workplace, can help increase employee loyalty and retention as well.
Employer-provided medical insurance in Qatar or elsewhere may only cover basic in-patient and day-patient treatments. To augment your health insurance coverage and access specialised facilities, along with critical pre-and post-hospitalization services, consider buying private insurance plans from Cigna Healthcare.
To calculate health insurance premiums for employees, factor in the extent of coverage for them and their dependents, as well as add-ons such as dental treatment, regular checkups, and more, to determine the cost of employee or group health insurance.
